Horizons of railway transport 2025
"Automation and Digitalization in the Context of Railway System Interoperability",
organised by the University of Žilina and Association of Railways Operators of Slovakia, on behalf of the Rector of the University of Žilina, prof. Ján Čelko, CSc. in cooperation with:
- Slovak Scientific and Technical Society for Transport (member of SVTS),
- Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic,
- Železnice Slovenskej republiky,
- Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko, Inc.,
- Železničná spoločnosť Cargo Slovakia, Inc.,
- Slovenskou vedecko-technickou spoločnosťou dopravy.
The conference will be held on October 7–9, 2025, at Swissôtel Damian Jasna***** in Demänovská Dolina, SK.
The aim of the 13th international scientific conference is to provide a platform for experts, researchers, and industry representatives to share theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in innovations supporting the digitalization and automation of railway transport, including a broader context of economic efficiency, sustainability, management, and marketing.
Discussions will focus on the latest trends in intelligent transport systems and the challenges associated with implementing interoperable solutions, including operational and economic aspects. A key topic will be the creation of a unified, interoperable, and harmonized European railway space to enhance the absorptive capacity of freight and passenger flows, strengthening rail transport as an environmentally friendly mode. The conference builds on previous editions and creates a platform to exchange knowledge on the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
